Tode’s Weekly Assessment #19

Been a busy week with prepping for NaNoWriMo mostly. Got my book’s outline done and trying to work on the character sketches. Normally this is the easiest part for me but this time around coming up with names has been a chore. Maybe I should have gone about this my usual way without all the planning? But I know me and the way I write. I’m pretty certain that without an outline the end of November would have seen me with either next to nothing or a convoluted mess. Hoping that I will have at least all the preplanned characters’ names and a rough idea of who they are down before the 1st of November so that I can jump right into the writing part full throttle. I have no doubt that as usual the characters will take over at that point.

  • Little Bear is unusually cranked today. Not sure if I am perceiving it this way because I feel tired and grumpy or if he is just truly cranked. At least I survived the school dance last night. Just wish they had turned the heat down for it. Not a complaint I normally make, but seriously you don’t need it kicking out that much heat for people dancing. Most of those poor kids were shelling out money for popsicles and sitting outside of the dance room listening to the music. Who plans these things?

  • I think I did pick up a cold from that school dance. I’m tired all the time and ache all over with stomach trouble. Sucks. My middle son is dealing with the same thing. Little Bear just brimming with energy as usual however. I can’t keep up!

  • Small bowl of homemade tomato bisque (I hope I spelled that right, but it’s a soup made of tomato and milk – not a cream of tomato the way my dad makes it, almost a tomato chowder but without onions and potatoes – it’s actually very plain and as a child I HATED it)
