WE SURVIVED THE WEEK!

Here’s the link to the YouTube page for the playlist:

The play list is getting longer and you are welcome to add more songs to the list. I know I’ll keep adding songs as I find them. The songs you add need to fit at least one of the following themes:

You can add them by clicking HERE. Remember the songs can be from any genre and be by any artist. If you don’t have a YouTube account that’s okay. Don’t be afraid to make suggestions in the comments. I will add them to the playlist. At this rate by the end of the year we will have an awesome playlist for a seriously cool party to ring in 2018. That’s pretty sweet to think about.

No idea what it is about this week for me, but I just haven’t been feeling much motivation of any kind for anything. Maybe it’s because it’s been a busy week in the way of appointments for me? It was therapy, the dentist, and a long drive to visit with the neuropsych – all back to back this week. So I haven’t felt like writing, reading, or even playing video games really. I guess it ought to be expected but I feel kind of guilty that today that I’m scrambling to get laundry caught up and done.

And no, I didn’t miss the swearing in of our new president, as much as it annoyed Scholar Owl at first to get dragged along for that. We should never turn our backs on such moments but instead be a part of them. We need to mark them in our lives, even if it is just gathering together as a family to bear witness at the television of the event. You never know when such moments will have greater significance to you later down the road.

Kind of like how we went to see the Moving Wall. It may not be a big deal to the boys now, but years later it might be. I know it was a once in a lifetime event for us to see it. We may never get the opportunity to see it ever again. And these are the moments that matter and the ones we need to take advantage of for ourselves. Someday, we’ll look back at the significant points of history in our lives and we will be able to say, “I was a part of that.” It doesn’t matter what part you played. Just seize the moment and play a part. Don’t let life slide by you. Build life around you.

So this week I’m bumping to the top of the list two songs: “Stop the Rock” and “The Nexus” in the hopes of kicking myself into gear for next week which is to be far quieter in the way of scheduling. I want to keep building my life.

How did your week go and what does next week coming up look like? I wish you all an awesome weekend!

  1. I understand what you’re saying about the inauguration, but I just couldn’t do it. It is no exaggeration to say that it would make me physically sick. I declared a 36 hour moratorium on Facebook, Twitter and the news in general. That’s hard to do for this news junkie.

    • Oh I hear you and I don’t hold it against anyone. We all need to know what will trigger us. I think maybe I was able to handle it because I’ve been avoiding the media for the last two weeks? Just been on WordPress, so it felt buffering.
