We’re told to seize the day in Team Goblin’s tarot forecast for next week so in this weekend’s Chaos Rally playlist we have chase scene music to match the theme and set the mood. Enjoy!
This Coming Week’s Forecast
The purpose of this Chaos Rally reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.
Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.
The Challenge: Eight of Wands
Seize your moments with the understanding that time passes you by one way or another.
The essence of the Eight of Wands is speed, often in the form of action or news. I want you to pay particular attention to the image of this card. The man here has fired the cannon and the rods are now launched into the air. There’s no taking them back. This was a decisive, and final, action.
So the challenge for this coming week is to seize your moments with the understanding that they are going to pass you by one way or another. That whatever it is you do, you aren’t going to get that time back.
Think of these rods in the image of this card as the actions you can choose to take within a fixed amount of time. There are only so many of them, aren’t there? Sure, you can reload the cannon but you can’t reclaim the rods that have been already fired.
Make sure that when you take your shot, the rods are going where you want them to go.
The Lesson: Page of Pentacles
Be willing to explore what you can do in order to expand your skill sets.
Pages are the students or apprentices of the court and they embody the promise of their suit, so here the Page of Pentacles is the promise of all that the earth and body has to offer.
What does that mean exactly though and how does that translate into a lesson from our challenge here?
When it comes to the Pentacles, the earth and the body means the physical plane. So we’re talking about hard work, physical skills, and the fruits of that labor. In context of the Page of Pentacles, we’re talking about discovering new skills usually.
Here in this card, we see someone dressed for travel passing through a curtain and crossing a snowy threshold. It appears she is ready to embark on a new journey. Maybe she is already on one and she is in the process of exploration.
I take the image of this card to mean that we need to be willing to explore what we can do in order to expand our skill sets.
You need to get out there and explore the possibilities available to you.
They say that opportunity knocks, I know. My argument to this is that it can’t knock for you if you haven’t built the door. You need to take your shot. You need to get out there and explore the possibilities available to you.
Don’t do what I did and spend half of your life with the button pressed on pause. Life will pass you by if you do that. Press play. Cross that threshold. Go see what life has to offer for you.
The Inner Lie: High Priestess
When you get that strong feeling from your gut, trust it.
You know that still, small voice inside you that tells you things? Sometimes strange things? Some people call it their gut. Other people call it intuition. Others call it instinct. And others still will call it the Light of Christ. There are those that will give it labels like subconscious or super-conscious.
Personally, I don’t care what you call it so long as you understand that it’s real.
This niggling, nagging sense you get from time to time that tells you to do something – and I’m not talking about washing dishes here (although you probably ought to). I’m talking about the sudden urge to call someone or to not take the bus you were planning to that day. Or that creepy feeling you get the person you just met can’t be trusted even though you have no proof. Or take the job offer even though the job you have is good.
My family has a bunch of stories like these. I’m sure your family does too. I’ve yet to meet a person who doesn’t. Usually, it’s a story of when they didn’t trust their gut and ended up regretting it. So when you get that strong feeling from your gut, trust it.
Your intuition will speak to you about an opportunity only for a fixed amount of time, and when it falls silent it means you have lost your shot.
Perhaps the most important aspect of trusting your intuition, is allowing it to tell you when to take your shot. When it does, don’t hesitate. It’s only going to speak to you about this window of opportunity for so long. When it stops speaking, it means that window has closed and you have lost your shot.
Do not allow the fear of failure to stand in the way of exploring, and learning from, your intuition.
Another critical aspect to keep in mind here is to not allow the fear of failure to stand in the way of exploring, and learning from, your intuition. How you define success here defines everything in your life.
Ultimately, we come to this life as human beings to experience, grow, and develop. If we are achieving at least that much, then aren’t we succeeding in life?
If your answer is no, then my next question for you is how much are your struggling against your intuition? How much are you denying yourself? How long have you been standing upon the threshold?
Be willing to work with yourself to make the “magic” happen in your life.
We are being challenged to seize opportunities as they arise and simply take our shot with the Eight of Wands. Meanwhile the Page of Pentacles is encouraging us to explore and build those opportunities. In the center of all this is the High Priestess telling us to trust ourselves as we do this.
I think we need to be willing to work with ourselves to make the magic happen in our lives.
The Wisdom: Two of Cups
You need to develop and increase self love.
As you can see in the image of this card, the Two of Cups is about bringing together two elements into one unified whole. Sometimes it is about romance or business, but this time I believe it’s about facets within ourselves.
This entire reading has been about believing in yourself and taking advantage of opportunities in your life. In order to do that, you need to develop and increase self love. You need have faith and confidence in your self. You need to know that you have what it takes to do the things you want to do in life.
When we have this self love and we feel unified within ourselves, the confidence we need is already there at the ready.
You won’t need the approval of others to live your life when you truly love yourself.
When we believe and trust in ourselves, our intuition gets louder and stronger.
When we believe and trust in ourselves, our intuition gets louder and stronger. And as our intuition develops, it becomes easier to love ourselves more. This creates an internal unifying feedback loop for ourselves.
Life has so much to offer if you are willing to give yourself a chance.
To recap the reading for this coming week: take the shot when the opportunity arises, and don’t be afraid to cross the threshold in order to explore what the world holds for you. Trust your instincts and allow yourself to believe and love yourself.
Life has so much to offer if you are willing to give yourself a chance.
