In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we see that we find healing when we take the time to understand and discipline ourselves enough to start directly speaking our truth. Read on for details!
This Coming Week’s Reading
The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.
Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.
The Challenge: Nine of Coins
The challenge for this coming week is to improve your self-discipline regardless of where you are in your journey.
Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Nine of Coins.
The image of this card depicts a dragon meditating between a tree of light and a tree of shadow. It took me a long time to come to understand that it represented self-discipline, since the dragon in this image throughout the suit had been pursuing ascension as its ultimate goal. And here, in this card, the dragon is almost there.
Therefore, the challenge for this coming week is to improve our self-discipline regardless of where we are in our journey. Without it, we won’t be able to achieve our goals.
The Lesson: The Hermit
The lesson to be learned here is that sometimes you need to go it on your own and do it your way without the input of others.
Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Hermit.
This dragon is forging ahead alone, with only his light to guide him. He is willing to learn about the world and his abilities on his own terms, without the distractions of others.
The lesson to be learned here is that sometimes we need to go it on our own and do it our way without the input of others.
It’s going to take self-discipline to place higher value on your own opinion in what you want to do than what others have to say on the matter.
Last week we touched upon shutting the voices that are not our own, and this week this appears to be even more important in regards to achieving our goals. It’s going to take self-discipline to place higher value on your own opinion in what you want to do than what others have to say on the matter.
You only have one life to live and no one else is going to have to sit with the choices you make for the rest of your life. So make sure those choices are the ones you really want to be making.
The Inner Lie: Page of Swords
The false belief to overcome is that directness makes things harder in our interactions with others, when in fact it’s necessary for the things that matter.
Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Page of Swords.
What I like about this picture in this card is how swift the dragon appears to be flying. It’s as though he isn’t afraid to get straight to business.
Far too often we beat around the bush, mince our words, hedge against our feelings, and evade topics in the name of making things easier. In the reality all we end up doing is create misunderstanding, confusion, delays, and disappointment. Why is that?
The reason is the moment we allow someone to believe something other than what is our truth, something that isn’t in alignment with our heart, is the moment we have created an alternate reality. Now, we’re no longer in alignment with this person. We’re no longer sharing the same reality. Not because we don’t have the same opinion, but because we each view the speaker’s heart differently.
Don’t do that.
You don’t need to be brutal about anything. If it doesn’t matter then let it go. For the things that do matter, cut to the chase and be direct and honest about it.
If you’re always mincing about in your communication, chances are it will take you longer to achieve your goals than it would have if you had been direct.
The Nine of Coins isn’t just about self-discipline. It’s also about enjoying the finer things in life. First off, that can’t happen without the self-discipline to bring in those finer things into your life.
However, it also means speaking clearly and directly to others when negotiating for the things you want and need. If you’re always mincing about in your communication, chances are it will take you longer to achieve your goals than it would have if you had been direct.
Taking the time you need to get really clear on what you want and need before you speak and act is critical.
Taking the time you need to get really clear on what you want and need before you speak and act is critical.
Sometimes we mince about not because we’re jerks, but because we don’t know where we stand on something.
There should never be anything wrong with telling someone, “I don’t know yet, let me get back to you on that.”
If they have a problem with this response, there is a much bigger problem at hand that you need to examine.
With self-discipline and self-awareness being clear and direct in your communication becomes easier.
So as you can see with these three cards, with self-discipline and self-awareness being clear and direct in your communication becomes easier.
You’ll find that not only will you’ll get more done throughout the day, but you’ll also discover that your authentic self with shine through more often and brighter than before.
The Wisdom: Two of Cups
The advice being given for this coming week is that everything we do should be coming from a place of love with the intent to heal.
Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Two of Cups.
This card is often about partnerships and unions, but it’s also about healing. Since the artwork from this deck features only one dragon, I feel the primary focus is healing here.
I believe the advice being given for this coming week is that everything we do should be coming from a place of love with the intent to heal.
This could be healing ourselves or others, but if you notice the water in the background image of the card how vast it is. There is plenty to go around. Let’s try to be the same as the water in this image with our love this coming week. The world has enough to be miserable about right now. Let’s be a reason someone smiles.
Be gentle on yourself as you work on self-discipline.
Looking at the Nine of Coins and the Two of Cups together, I need you to know that as you work on self-discipline that you also need to be gentle on yourself.
You will do yourself a great deal of harm if you get lost in maladaptive perfectionism.
You can’t heal what you don’t understand.
You can’t heal what you don’t understand. This is especially true of your own heart. Deep soul searching and introspection is required.
To care is to love, to love is to know, and to know is to become aware.
This is true of others and of yourself.
It’s not a chain, but a circle. It’s not a set of emotions, but behaviors.
It has no ending, and no beginning. So you can start at any point and move from there in either direction.
Being direct about how you really feel on matters also has a healing effect.
Being direct about how you really feel on matters also has a healing effect. Not just for you, but for those you are speaking to. Yes, sometimes it is like ripping a bandage off but to quote a line from the movie Neverending Story: “It has to hurt if it’s to heal.”
Again, we don’t need to be brutal but sometimes the truth does sting. However, once it’s out there both parties are free to do as they please in accordance to their needs.
Remember what I said earlier about alternate realities. If alternate realities exist, this isn’t possible. It means at least one party is operating with false information.
Knowing this, do you want to be responsible for that?
Which has the greater long-term harm?
Conclusion
We find healing when we take the time to understand and discipline ourselves enough to start directly speaking our truth.
Examining the entire spread, we see that we find healing when we take the time to understand and discipline ourselves enough to start directly speaking our truth.
