2019 Chaos Rally #34

In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we examine how our daily habits influence the change we bring into our lives and the way we feel. Read on for details!

This Coming Week’s Reading

01-Intro-08-23-19The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.

And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.

I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

The Challenge: The Tower

The challenge this coming week is to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone.

03-Monday-08-23-19Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Tower.

This is a distressing card for many people to see. Here you are, all cozy up in your tower and suddenly, “WHAM!” it’s blown to bits and you’re flying way out of your comfort zone. Hate to break it to you, but you’re not Rapunzel here. Most cases in life there isn’t going to be some dashing hero to ease us out of our comfort zones so we can explore the wide, wonderful world. Instead, the universe is going to push us out of our nest and it’s going to feel incredibly scary when it happens.

The challenge this coming week is to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone. Allow yourself to embrace whatever changes that come your way with courage. Or if you really feel daring, create change for yourself and do something that requires you to step outside the tower you have built around yourself..

The Lesson: Page of Cups

Take the time this week to learn and discover what it is you really feel.

04-Grim-08-23-19Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Page of Cups.

The Page of Cups is the student of the heart. Take the time this week to learn and discover what it is you really feel. Learn to trust your intuition. Learn and practice expressing all of this with others. These are skills that need to be continuously sharpened and developed throughout life.

You can reshape your comfort zone by remaining in touch with your feelings while utilizing threshold tolerances.

05-Grim-Monday-08-23-19You can reshape your comfort zone by remaining in touch with your feelings while utilizing threshold tolerances.

Now the way this works isn’t pushing yourself until you break or pulling back the moment you feel remotely uncomfortable.

Instead, what you do is you go to the point where you start to feel the max, but not to the point of overwhelm or panic. Then you sit with that feeling for as long as you can before pulling back. You repeat this process until it becomes manageable. This then becomes your new comfort zone.

This only works if you are paying attention while applying the correct amount of pressure upon yourself. You want yourself to grow, not break.

The Inner Lie: The Hanging Man

The false belief to overcome here is that the universe isn’t out to destroy you.

06-Murphy-08-23-19Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Hanging Man.

Look at the image of this card. Yes, the man here is swinging upside down but he is still safely tethered. He’s not going to fall and die.

The false belief to overcome here is that the universe isn’t out to destroy you. It wants you to grow and learn to fly. Trust that the universe holds space for you just as the man does in the image of this card. Allow yourself to see things from a different perspective in order to grow.

Embracing the process is freedom.

07-Murphy-Monday-08-23-19The universe is designed for you to evolve and grow, so you can chose to be pushed into it or embrace it. Either way this personal development is going to occur.

When studying the images of the two cards, you see with the Tower that being pushed feels exposed and frightening while the Hanging Man is depicted as liberating and enjoyable. Embracing the process is freedom.

Trust in the universe enough to feel whatever it is you feel.

08-Murphy-Grim-08-23-19Trust in the universe enough to feel whatever it is you feel. Emotions serve as messengers within the body. They have a function and a purpose, but only if you take the time to pay attention enough to correctly label them. Once you do and release that energy, appropriate action can then be taken.

Change is a natural course of life and part of the grand scheme for our development within the universe.

09-Murphy-Grim-Monday-08-23-19Change is a natural course of life and part of the grand scheme for our development within the universe. Regardless of how you may feel about it, allow it to flow through you and release it. Trust and embrace the process.

The Wisdom: The Devil

The wisdom for this coming week is to increase the awareness you have of why you do what you do at any particular time.

10-Toad-08-23-19Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Devil.

The Devil represents the base, primal nature within us all. The natural man as opposed to the higher self. Our addictions, compulsions, impulses, and so on, driven by the pure animal biology of our bodies. These can be triggered by our selfish desires too. But make no mistake, these are all things that we can rise above through hard work.

The wisdom for this coming week is to increase the awareness you have of why you do what you do at any particular time.

For instance, why are you eating that particular food item in that moment? Is it because it is nutritious and you are hungry, or is it because you are upset and you need a distraction? Maybe it’s Netflix instead, or running, or sleep, or alcohol. It really doesn’t matter. What matters is being mindful of the habits you keep, the reasons behind them, and deciding whether or not a change is needed.

Whenever we sink into bad, unhealthy, and dysfunctional habits we are essentially building a castle on top of sand.

11-Toad-Monday-08-23-19Our habits build the foundation of our life and forges the direction we’re headed. When this is solid, then we’re solid and in a good place.

However when we sink into bad, unhealthy, and dysfunctional habits we are essentially building a castle on top of sand. The moment life puts any kind of pressure upon us, we are going to crumble and fall.

Your daily habits have the greatest influence and impact on the way you feel.

12-Toad-Grim-08-23-19Your daily habits have the greatest influence and impact on the way you feel. Pay attention to this. Mood trackers are great for this actually. Eventually patterns will emerge and you’ll start seeing how your day to day life is making you feel.

The Devil builds comfort zones via habituation in response to our fear while the Hanging Man urges us to be brave enough to experience life in a different way.

13-Toad-Murphy-08-23-19We need to be careful not to become trapped by our comfort zones, especially when we understand that they are constructs of the subconscious mind built by fear.

To quote the novel, “Dune” by Frank Herbert: “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

The Devil builds comfort zones via habituation in response to our fear while the Hanging Man urges us to be brave enough to experience life in a different way.

Conclusion

It’s your daily habits that make or break you.

14-All-08-23-19To pull back and examine the entire spread, the driving force behind everything this coming week is your every day habits.

It’s your daily habits that make or break you. It’s what grows you into the person you are becoming each day and moves you in the direction you are going. It’s the reason you feel the way you do overall. And ultimately, it’s the reason the universe needs to push you and shake things up once in awhile in order for you to make the progress you need to make.
