In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we explore why it is when you remain true to yourself in all things, you remain solid in the foundation of your central being. Read on for details!
This Coming Week’s Reading
The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

The Challenge: Two of Wands
Practice the art of patience as you wait, regardless of why.
Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Two of Wands.
Sometimes we feel kind of stuck where we’re at, like we’re waiting for a sign to come. Maybe it’s because we feel lost and we’re not sure what to do. Maybe it’s because plans have already been made and we need someone or something else in order to move forward. Either way we are waiting and it sucks.
The challenge this coming week is to practice the art of patience as we wait, regardless of why.
The Lesson: The Devil
In the most simplest of terms, you can (and do) Pavlov yourself.
Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Devil.
This card represents the things that bind us up within ourselves. Often times they feel huge and insurmountable. Here in the image of this card it is depicted as none other than the maddening elder god, Cthulhu himself.
Personally, I find it a rather fitting choice since the one thing that trips us up the most and tends to universally control us all, is our emotions. We drive ourselves crazy with them. We pretend they aren’t real. We make ourselves sick because of them. We become addicted to all sorts of things because of them. We will do the most insane, ridiculous, and irrational things all because of emotions. And never once face them because they appear too big and too scary to take head on.
The source of all emotions is the subconscious mind in response to all the stimulus you receive from the world around you. That’s it. So no, you don’t control your emotions. What you can control is your response to your emotions and the behavior you chose as a result. Through repetitious behavior you can reprogram the subconscious response to the stimulus. Basically, in the most simplest of terms, you can (and do) Pavlov yourself.
This is the lesson you need to learn.
You are you and you’re just in that brain of yours observing the thoughts.
Some of us don’t handle waiting very well. A large part of that is boredom, perhaps, but I also believe it’s a fear of facing and exploring the self. I honestly believe that if one is willing to explore the internal world of the self, boredom wouldn’t last for long.
This isn’t the same as overthinking or worrying. This is just allowing. Allowing whatever thoughts that come to come and then flit on by, like leaves in the wind. Same with the emotions. Allow it all to travel whatever direction it wants to go. Release control.
And yes, this is how meditation works. The mind doesn’t go blank. It just is. And the reason for that is you aren’t your thoughts. You are an observer of your thoughts. This is why when you have depression, or anxiety, or mania the brain lies to you because you are not your thoughts. You are you and you’re just in that brain of yours observing the thoughts. None of that controls you.
The Inner Lie: Ace of Swords
Our perception is not the same as truth.
Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Ace of Swords.
Perception is the information the brain receives and processes from our senses after it has filtered out whatever it has determined as unimportant. Therefore, our perception is our reality.
However, our perception is not the same as truth.
Two people can be at the exact same event and perceive two very different experiences. The first cause for this is their brains will have two sets of filters for what is and isn’t important. The second cause for this is how their brains will process the information.
Understand that the second can be adjusted for while the first cannot. If the brain says it’s not important, it will never exist to the brain in that memory sequence. It means that piece of information will have to be introduced to the brain in some other way.
Make sure your sources of information are truly trustworthy.
Make sure your sources of information are truly trustworthy.
Yes, waiting sucks but don’t fall into the trap of gossip and rumor simply because you are bored. There is a good chance that such distractions will lead you to ruin in the long run anyhow so don’t waste your time with it.
To be completely honest, if you are lost and are in need of a sign of which way to go to find yourself, just pick a path because any of them you chose will take you there. You don’t need anyone to tell you. Let your heart lead the way.
And finally, if you are in the process of making plans of any kind you’ll want to be sure they are built upon solid information. You don’t want to end up waiting around for stuff to happen for no reason.
Be aware that your perception can be influenced and clouded by your emotions.
Be aware that your perception can be influenced and clouded by your emotions.
If you fail to acknowledge and address your emotions, they will hijack the brain and take control of what it deems important. Emotions can and will control what is focused on and in turn how the subconscious mind continues to respond to the world around you. This is called the emotional chain.
In the long run, the emotional chain serves as a drive for how you manifest your life.
When you are unable or unwilling to take control of the emotional chain, it begins to control how you plan out your day to day behavior. This is turn influences how your life plays out.
In the long run, the emotional chain serves as a drive for how you manifest your life. Either you learn how to control it, or it controls you.
The Wisdom: Seven of Swords
You do need to have an integrity that rings true to you in all things in your life.
Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Seven of Swords.
Allowing people in to get to know your authentic self is the only way to experience true connection with others. This requires honest vulnerability with people rather than stealing away and hiding from everyone.
No, not everyone needs to know all of your deepest and darkest secrets but you do need to have an integrity that rings true to you in all things in your life. Even when it sucks. Even when no one is watching. Be true to you.
If it’s not worth the wait, then why are you waiting?
Why are you waiting? Is it worth it? Does it align with you and your purpose? Then make peace with it and get comfortable.
If it’s not worth the wait, then why are you waiting? Seriously. If whatever it is does not align with you or your purpose then it is time for you to release it and let it go.
Before you open up to other people, take the time to open up to yourself.
Being untrue to ourselves is one of the worst things we can ever do to ourselves. It is a slow death by a thousand cuts and most of us are so desensitized to it because we are too busy keeping people out of our walls.
We end up emotionally numbing ourselves in a variety of ways. Eating, starving, television, shopping, internet, gambling, substances, sex, and so on. All to avoid what we are feeling.
Before you open up to other people, take the time to open up to yourself. Tackle the demon called your emotions.
Your perception is your reality which means your way of seeing things isn’t the only way of seeing things.
Remember, your perception is your reality which means your way of seeing things isn’t the only way of seeing things.
People aren’t going to understand you if you never open up to them. You will never understand them either if you never open up. The door goes both ways here.
Conclusion
When you remain true to yourself in all things, you remain solid in the foundation of your central being.
When you remain true to yourself in all things, you remain solid in the foundation of your central being. You understand when and why you need to wait for something. You become willing to face and address your emotions as they arise rather than control you. And you remain ever aware that your perception is not the same thing as truth.
