2019 Chaos Rally #46

In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we explore how to walk with purpose while enjoying the present moment. Read on for details!

This Coming Week’s Reading

CR-01-11-15-19The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.

And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.

I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.

The Challenge: Knight of Pentacles

Take one task at a time and to follow through with it to its completion.

CR-03-11-15-19Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Knight of Pentacles.

Knights represent the teenager or messenger of the court within tarot while pentacles represent the earthly and physical realm.

This knight looks like a tiny boy riding a small pony through some kind of glade. He doesn’t appear mighty or important, but he is there for a reason and a purpose. In his hands he has an ornate pentacle and he’s delivering it to somewhere. Notice how this child isn’t messing around? He’s taking his job seriously and he’s going to get it done.

The challenge presented here with this card is to take one task at a time and to follow through with it to its completion. Start with the most important and most urgent task of the day. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks or feels about that task. Only you can decide what is important and urgent to you. Focus on that one thing and complete that. When it is completed, move on to the next most important and urgent thing.

The Lesson: Nine of Pentacles

Do not be all work and no play.

CR-04-11-15-19Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Nine of Pentacles.

Here in this image we have a woman enjoying the moment in a garden with sunflowers. She is at peace with herself and her surroundings even though a garden requires a great deal of work to maintain.

The lesson here is to take the time to enjoy the life you have. If you spend all your time working to build a life, then what exactly is the point? Don’t make the mistake of saying, “I’ll be happy when…” because you end up training your brain to never be happy in the now. Be in the now. Breathe in the now. Live in the now. Allow yourself to experience the happy moments that are available to you right now. Do not be all work and no play.

Make sure you balance work and rest together.

CR-05-11-15-19Make sure you balance work and rest together. Pay attention to your body and as you begin to feel yourself grow tired or burnt out, put play and self-care on your important and urgent list of things to you.

The Inner Lie: Four of Swords

Whatever your one thing is for the next day, write it down and sleep on it.

CR-06-11-15-19Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Four of Swords.

The image in this card shows a woman resting beneath a stained glass window in a church. I get the impression she is meditating rather than sleeping here due to the way the sunlight is coming in.

So many of us believe that meditation is difficult or time consuming, when there is as many ways to do this as there are people in the world. The purpose of meditation is to clear our heads of the emotional and thought clutter that isn’t us. We are not our thoughts. We are not our emotions. And meditation is the exercise in learning how to simply observe those thoughts and emotions for what they are.

We can also actively set our intentions for the day with meditation. We can do this the night before and first thing in the morning. It helps by writing it down just before going to bed and then writing it down again in the morning before doing anything else.

So it could something like, “I am energetic and productive in my endeavors.” And you go to sleep and wake up with this thought. Whatever your one thing is for the next day, write it down and sleep on it. Set your mind in preparation for it.

It doesn’t need to be perfect, it only needs to be done.

CR-07-11-15-19When you prepare your mind to perform the task you need to do, does it become easier or does it become an overworked mess of overthinking? Overthinking is a symptom of maladaptive perfectionism.

This causes procrastination, undue stress, imposter syndrome, and a host of other problems. Release yourself of all this by adopting this one simple mantra: “It doesn’t need to be perfect, it only needs to be done.”

It is self-awareness that pulls you into the now, while anxiety desires to escape from it.

CR-08-11-15-19A big piece of mindfulness is learning how to be in the now. The same is true of grounding techniques. It is a form of live action meditation if you will. It is self-awareness that pulls you into the now, while anxiety desires to escape from it.

Self-awareness will provide you the means to be more productive and healthy.

CR-09-11-15-19Remain self-aware so that you can stay in the present, accomplish your tasks, and attend to your self-care. Self-awareness will provide you the means to be more productive and healthy.

The Wisdom: Death

In order for a new you to be born, the old you needs to die.

CR-10-11-15-19Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within Death.

In this image we have the reaper on the right in the foreground and a small child on the left in the background. Between them is a ghost of a woman rising up into the night sky. What I find interesting about this image is there is a foggy line connected between the child and the ghost. The line passes by the reaper, but he is just causally sitting there on the giant skull.

The wisdom here with this card is that in order for a new you to be born, the old you needs to die. Old habits. Old behaviors. Anything in your life that isn’t allowing you to grow anymore needs to pass on and make room for what does.

Remember, the purpose of the scythe is to harvest what is ready so that a new crop can be planted. So allow your field to be prepared for the next crop in your life.

Go where you are celebrated, not tolerated.

CR-11-11-15-19If you truly feel that what you are doing in life is insignificant and unappreciated, than it is time for a change. Go where you are celebrated, not tolerated. Allow yourself to grow and expand as a person.

Life is too short to remain stuck in constant misery everyday.

CR-12-11-15-19Go to where ever it is you find peace and joy in your life. Life is too short to remain stuck in constant misery everyday.

Get to know the real you without the input of others.

CR-13-11-15-19Spend time alone to gain clarity on your thoughts, emotions, and intentions. Get to know the real you without the input of others.

Conclusion

As you grow into the real you, you will find the places and activities that bring you peace and joy.

CR-14-11-15-19As you grow into the real you, you will find the places and activities that bring you peace and joy. The noise in your mind will become still and you will walk with purpose while enjoying the present moment.
