This Coming Week’s Reading
The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

The Challenge: Eight of Pentacles
Pick one skill you’d like to master and start practicing it every day.
Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Eight of Pentacles.
In the image of this card, we have a craftsman carefully toiling away at the details of his work. He is meticulously making sure nothing is missed and everything is just right. As you can see on the wall, each pentacle down the line becomes more ornate than the last as he improves in making them.
This card is known as the apprentice card and the old saying, “Practice makes perfect,” pairs well with it. It is through repetition that we master anything in life. And I believe that the image of this card illustrates what Roberto Blake means when he says, “Quantity over time produces quality.”
Even Ray Bradbury had said, “Write a short story every week. It’s not possible to write 52 bad short stories in a row.” And he’s right. At least one of them has got to be good.
You’re simply not going to get better at something if you don’t keep doing it over and over. In order to master something, you must push the quantity. Only then will you reach the quality you desire.
So the challenge here is to pick one skill you’d like to master and start practicing it every day. Doesn’t matter what the skill is, just pick one thing you want to be better at and commit to it.
The Lesson: The Empress
Clear the blocks in order to radiate and flow in your creativity.
Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Empress.
The Empress is the epitome of feminine energy within the tarot. She is the natural feminine. So here we have nurturing, receptiveness, creativity, stillness, and radiance. This is when the feminine energy is healthy and flowing.
When this energy isn’t healthy and flowing we feel powerless, victimized, co-dependent, and needy. This is when we start to see over-sensitive, over-emotional, manipulative, and withholding behaviors. It’s important to understand here that what we are feeling is still valid, but what’s going on is due to the blocking of our feminine energy. Clear the blocks in order to radiate and flow in your creativity.
It’s extremely important to understand that each of us, male and female, have both feminine and masculine energy coursing through us in order to be a complete entity.
For example, you can’t give without receiving nor can you receive without giving. Giving is masculine energy. Receiving is feminine energy. You have both. Embrace and utilize both. Become a complete entity within yourself.
When you master combining and balancing the two energies together, you accomplish many things.
So here’s something to consider. Masculine energy is active. The craftsman in the Eight of Pentacles is making things. This is a highly masculine energy task on the surface? But he is being creative with how he is making those things, which requires feminine energy to do. He is tapping into both energies of himself to make something.
This is where people get tripped up. The act of doing is masculine. The act of resting is feminine. Creativity is feminine. Logic and focus is masculine. Flow and ease is feminine. Direction and discipline is masculine.
When you master combining and balancing the two energies together, you accomplish many things.
The Inner Lie: Two of Cups
Try to focus on the common ground you share with people.
Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Two of Cups.
Here we have a man and a woman pouring two different energies into a beaker that rises up into the air to form the yin-yang symbol. Two of Cups represents many things, like partnership and love, but at the core of it all it boils down to alchemical unity. It’s about bringing two different things into harmony. And really, when you think about it, isn’t that what love and partnership is about?
So the false belief to overcome here is to not be so quick to assume that everyone is different from you. Instead, look for the similarities. Try to focus on the common ground you share with people.

Just as you possess both feminine and masculine energies within you, each and every person you meet does as well. It’s often said you need to match your energy with others when interacting with them. I think this well-meaning, but misguided.
Instead, if they are interacting with you in their masculine energy try to meet them in your feminine energy. If they meet you in their feminine energy, try to interact with them in your masculine energy. In other words don’t match your energy with others, synergize with it.
This doesn’t mean if someone is in their resting state that you need to try to get them to be active. That’s not respecting their feminine energy state of being in the moment. They are resting for a reason. Chances are, they are resting because they are tired or overwhelmed. Instead you could ask them what needs to be done right now.
Mastery of this skill is worthwhile since it enhances all your other skills.

The Wisdom: Two of Swords
Whenever you find yourself confused, shut out the world around you to clear your head.
Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Two of Swords.
In this image we have a blindfolded woman holding a sword in each hand as she balances herself on her toes upon a single point of power beneath the full moon. She appears to have removed herself of all distractions in order to do this. In the background you can see that the sun is starting to rise, suggesting she has been there all night. I can only image how heavy those swords must feel at this point. Why would someone go to such lengths?
The Two of Swords represents blocking for a variety of reasons. The image in this card suggests the need to block out the input of others to gain clarity within yourself. Whenever you find yourself confused, shut out the world around you to clear your head.
