In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, you are called to speak your truth directly and up front with compassion, to create space for emotions and allow for rest as needed. Read on for details!
This Coming Week’s Reading
The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.
Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.
The Challenge: Knight of Swords
Be up front and direct about your truth, without diminishing the value of emotions.
Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Knight of Swords.
The challenge for this coming week is being up front and direct about your truth, without diminishing the value of emotions. It’s not really being honest with yourself if you are shutting off your heart. And it’s not really being kind or productive if what you have to say is slicing someone wide open. At that point, you really have to ask yourself what your true intentions really are. Were you honestly speaking with the intent to air the truth, or were you speaking with the intent to wound the other?
The Lesson: Strength
Approach everything in your life with compassion and peace, including yourself.
Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Strength.
The lesson here is approaching everything in your life with compassion and peace, including yourself. It is easier to endure the challenges you face when you surrender to the reality of what is rather than to constantly resist. Once you accept what is, you can create change. Until then, you are too busy resisting. So be gentle with yourself and others. We are all doing the best we can with what we have in the moment.
While it’s important to be direct and upfront with what is true for you, it’s also important to be compassionate and gentle when delivering it.
While it’s important to be direct and upfront with what is true for you, it’s also important to be compassionate and gentle when delivering it.
Remember that setting boundaries isn’t about controlling the behavior of others. Boundaries is about controlling and modifying your own behavior in response to the world around you.
It is possible to tell someone that something hurts your feelings without invalidating theirs.
It is not disrespectful to stop spending time with someone if it’s uncomfortable or painful to be around them. It is disrespectful to expect them to change the core of who they are in order for them to spend time with you.
For example, you can request that someone respect your personal space and not touch you. This is reasonable.
You cannot, however, expect someone to never have symptoms of Tourettes Syndrome if they have this disorder (or any other disorder for that matter) because you think it’s weird and it makes you feel uncomfortable to see it or frustrated to deal with it for whatever reason. Making a request like that, regardless of how you may feel about it, is unreasonable and actually makes you a bad friend for this person. It is better and healthier for both of you to part ways if this is really your unchangeable truth.
The Inner Lie: Five of Cups
Disappointment and grief is not the end of the world, even though it feels like it at the time it occurs.
Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Five of Cups.
Disappointment and grief is not the end of the world, even though it feels like it at the time it occurs.
Look at the river behind the woman in the image of this card and remember that the water in it keeps moving forward. Life does the same, as do we. We are constantly moving forward, always experiencing changes.
This why the image also shows that only three of the cups are tipped over because not everything is lost. We may experience difficult times, but we also learn from them and gain wisdom.
One of the most important times in your life to be direct and upfront with your truth is when you are dealing with the feelings of loss, grief, and disappointment.
One of the most important times in your life to be direct and upfront with your truth is when you are dealing with the feelings of loss, grief, and disappointment. Especially with yourself. These feelings need to be honored and processed.
And as you do so, build a solid and loving story of wisdom around them because it is the stories we tell ourselves about our feelings that shape our belief systems and create our mindsets.
When faced with disappointment, grief, or loss, whether it’s your own or that of another, it is vital to hold space and have compassion.
When faced with disappointment, grief, or loss, whether it’s your own or that of another, it is vital to hold space and have compassion. Be gentle. Be kind. Allow the emotions to flow in the way they need to flow.
If you want healing to happen, allow a safe space to exist for the truth to air out.
Strength comes from a place of love and non-judgement. Strength doesn’t come from harshness, even if it’s true. It needs the gentle waters in order to be washed clean. So if you want healing to happen, allow a safe space to exist for the truth to air out.
The Wisdom: Ten of Wands
Pay attention to how you are feeling and why.
Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Ten of Wands.
The focus of this card is feeling overwhelmed, burdened, tired, and pressured. Therefore wisdom being given here is to pay attention to how you are feeling and why.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, burdened, tired, or pressured? This isn’t about placing blame on others. You are entirely responsible for how much goes on your plate. You have absolute control over how much you take on at any given time.
Stop saying yes to people if it means saying no to yourself. Period. Full stop.
This is why you feel so overwhelmed, burdened, tired, or pressured. This is why you feel unhappy. This is why you are miserable. This is why you cannot see beyond your own two feet.
It is time to be truly honest with yourself about what makes you happy and what makes you unhappy and start creating a better balance for yourself.
Stop saying yes to things out of fear of missing out, being disliked, or disappointing someone if what you really need and want is time to yourself and rest.
Stop saying yes to things out of fear of missing out, being disliked, or disappointing someone if what you really need and want is time to yourself and rest. You don’t need to be rude about it, but you do need to be upfront and honest. The people that actually matter most in your life will respect you more for it.
Have compassion for when you need the time to rest and actually give it to yourself.
Have compassion for when you need the time to rest and actually give it to yourself. Doesn’t matter what you have going on in your life, you are no good to anyone if you are burnt out and have run yourself into the ground. You need to take care of yourself in order to bring out the best in yourself.
The phases in your life when you are experiencing loss, grief, or disappointment are when you do need to ease up the pressure to get the extra rest.
The phases in your life when you are experiencing loss, grief, or disappointment are when you do need to ease up the pressure to get the extra rest. These are not the times to drive yourself into the ground in order to pretend everything is fine. Unprocessed emotions will wreck havoc on the body so make sure you take the time you need to acknowledge them and allow them to clear.
Conclusion
When you speak your truth directly and up front with compassion, you create space for emotions and allow for rest as needed.
When you speak your truth directly and up front with compassion, you create space for emotions and allow for rest as needed. This is critical to keep in mind during challenging times for both yourself and others. Life has a rhythm and flow in which you need to follow rather than resist. Allow what is true for you to lead the way.
