Think back to a time when you felt manipulated or controlled. Who was involved and what were the circumstances? Do you feel that you are still stuck in this situation or have you managed to break free from it?

If you’ve gotten clear from this person, how did you make it happen? If not, do you have a plan? Do you have supports and help in place? Do you know who you can turn to?

While it may be difficult to think of something if you’re still stuck, what is something you are grateful for regarding this situation? It can be anything really.

If you can only think of one thing you’re grateful for to write about in your journal, that’s okay. One thing is better than nothing, right? And if for some reason this prompt is leaving you stumped, you can always write about something else you’re grateful for instead. The entire point of this is to get you started, not to confine you in any way. Happy writing!
