2020 Chaos Rally #41

In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we’re asked to be mindful of who we’re investing our resources into. Read on for details!

This Coming Week’s Reading

The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.

And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.

I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.

The Challenge: Six of Pentacles

Assess and recalibrate the energetic balance in your life.

Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Six of Pentacles.

Once again the challenge for this coming week is to assess and recalibrate the energetic balance in your life.

This card focuses on equivalent exchange. Essentially, it’s about the “haves” and the “have nots” and the flow of resources. Most people think about money here, but money is merely a representation of time, energy, effort, and attention which are the real resources we have to work with. Yes, you buy things with money but it’s with your resources that you have earned that money. It’s merely an exchange.

So whatever you’re exchanging your money for, make sure it’s worth the time, energy, and effort you had put into earning it. As you earn your money, consider the cost-benefit of the time, energy, and effort you’re putting in.

This holds true everywhere else in your life. Does your time, energy, and effort where ever else you put it add value to your life? In other words, are you investing these resources wisely?

The Lesson: Six of Wands

Become willing to acknowledge your achievements without the validation of others.

Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the Six of Wands.

This card is about victory and triumph. This comes in many forms, both big and small. The knight in the image of this card has no one else to celebrate with and sometimes in life we need to be willing to celebrate ourselves on our own.

Become willing to acknowledge your achievements without the validation of others. It’s okay to quietly pat yourself on the back for something you’ve accomplished even if no one else understands or thinks it’s a big deal.

Chasing the approval of others will quickly drain you of your resources.

Chasing the approval of others will quickly drain you of your resources. People pleasing is one of the least cost efficient ways to manage anything in your life. You will never be able to make everyone happy all of the time. Attempting to do so will only result in you feeling like you’re not enough.

This isn’t to say you can’t be generous when you have the surplus to give. It does mean to be more mindful of what you have available at any given point in time and to choose more wisely what you do with it.

The Inner Lie: Page of Wands

If there is a will to do something, then there is a way to get it done.

Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Page of Wands.

The wands are about courage and passion, which is the willingness to suffer for what you love. This does not mean accepting or taking abuse. It means believing in something so strongly that you’re willing to give up one thing to accomplish another.

Like a college student giving up every party night in order to study so they can pass every exam to get their degree. Or a body builder giving up sweets and junk food to meet their body fat percentage goals. Or a writer giving up their free time to write instead in order to finish their novel. Or even like many parents right now giving up a lot just to assist their children with remote learning or homeschooling in light of the changes caused by Covid-19.

If there is a will to do something, then there is a way to get it done. It may take you some time to explore your options in order to discover your path, but the way for you is there.

The only way you can work on and achieve your goals is by shifting your resources towards them.

Examine how you allocate your resources. Remember that your time, energy, and effort belongs to you alone. You get to determine what your priorities are and you get to decide where your resources go. Yes, it is likely some people might be disappointed as you realign your priorities and resources, but this is where good boundaries come in.

The only way you can work on and achieve your goals is by shifting your resources towards them.

The path to victory can be a lonely one. Learn to be okay with that.

The path to victory can be a lonely one. Nothing everything can be done in groups. And not everyone is going to understand your dreams and goals. Learn to be okay with that.

Whatever it is you want to do with your life, you need to make sure you have the resources available to make it happen.

Whatever it is you want to do with your life, you need to make sure you have the resources available to make it happen. That’s not possible if you’re too busy people pleasing. It’s true that the more you shift away from doing that, the more you risk losing people from your life but you need to ask yourself if those people are really true to you at this point.

The Wisdom: Three of Swords

Face the truth head on with courage.

Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Three of Swords.

The truth can be painful to deal with sometimes. It can be heartbreaking to face it and may even feel like a betrayal. It’s important to be unwavering when faced with situations like this. Running from or ignoring the truth changes nothing. Face the truth head on with courage.

Not everyone in your life is your friend or on your side.

Not everyone in your life is your friend or on your side. Some people just want what you have to offer with nothing to give in return.

As people pleasers we never see this because we’re too busy chasing their approval, but the problem is we never feel good enough. We keep asking for a return on investment by giving more, which when you really think about it doesn’t make sense. There comes a point where we need to cut our loses and just go elsewhere.

Not everyone wants to see you win either.

Not everyone wants to see you win either. Pay attention to who cheers for you when you have an accomplishment to celebrate. Pay attention to how they cheer for you too. Pay attention to who supports you as you try to achieve your goals and the way they support you.

Who asks you to make sacrifices for them but won’t do the same for you?

Not everyone is willing to suffer with you or make sacrifices for you. Pay attention to this. Who asks you to make sacrifices for them but won’t do the same for you?

Conclusion

Be mindful of who you are investing your resources into.

By the time I’ve reached the end of this reading, I feel like the message here is largely about being mindful of who you are investing your resources into more than anything else.

Who gives you a return of investment for your time, energy, and effort?

Who cheers for you and supports you with your dreams and goals?

Who is there for you during the bad times, not just the good times, and makes sacrifices for you, not just ask you to make sacrifices for them?

Answering these questions should help you determine which people add value to your life and deserve a greater investment of your resources. Why invest these resources into people that only drain your energetic balance?
