In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we are asked to embrace and meet our emotional needs through our support systems. Read on for details!
This Coming Week’s Reading
The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.
And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.
I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.
Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.
The Challenge: Five of Pentacles
Reach out to your support system.
Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Five of Pentacles.
The challenge for this coming week is to reach out to your support system.
Check in with yourself and assess what it is you really need. Once you have determined that, state what you need help with clearly and directly.
Feeling overwhelmed with the housework? Ask someone to do a specific chore for you. Falling behind on a project? Ask someone to take over a specific step. Need something completely different? State it. If you have a list of things, ask someone to pick something from the list to help you with.
The key here is to state them as facts or wishes, not as complaints or attacks.
If you happen to be in a good place right now, be the one to provide the support to others.
The Lesson: Death
Nothing in life is really the end of the world so long as you are still alive.
Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within Death.
The lesson to learn here is that nothing in life is really the end of the world so long as you are still alive. The end of one chapter is merely the signal for the beginning of another. We may not be able to skip chapters or seasons, but we do get to decide how we move through them.
It may be hard to believe, but just because you’re struggling it doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It may be hard to believe, but just because you’re struggling it doesn’t mean you’re failing. Like the mythological phoenix, we have the ability to rise up from the metaphorical ashes. Know that whatever it is you, or someone you care about, is going through that the means to see it through is available. More often than not, we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for.
The Inner Lie: Page of Swords
We need the balance of both logic and emotion to make good decisions.
Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Page of Swords.
It’s important to explore the truth before us. It’s also important to keep in mind that while emotions within us are messages from the subconscious, they aren’t necessarily facts. We need the balance of both logic and emotion to make good decisions. All of one or the other tends to lead us down a blind road.
Your emotions point to your needs, but logic will determine how you will get them met.
Your emotions point to your needs, but logic will determine how you will get them met. This is something that is critical to remember. If we rely solely on logic to decide on needs, much of the heart and soul becomes neglected. If we rely solely on emotion to manage needs, too often communication will break down. So again, a balance between the two is desired.
It is entirely within your power to decide what you do with the changes in your life.
Change is constant and inevitable. Sometimes the change is gradual and subtle, while other times the change is sudden and feels disruptive. In either case, it is entirely within your power to decide what you do with the changes in your life. Only you are able to determine how you feel and how you desire to feel. Based upon this, you can cultivate the environment you need to thrive in.
Determine what it is you need emotionally, determine logically how to meet those needs, and from there make the necessary changes in your life.
So take the time to determine what it is you need emotionally and determine logically how to meet those needs. From there you can make the necessary changes in your life.
Keep in mind these emotional needs do not have to be met by all one person – whether it’s you or someone else. In fact, it’s better for you not to rely solely on one person if possible.
The Wisdom: King of Cups
Be willing to hold space for all of your emotions, whatever they happen to be in the moment.
Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the King of Cups.
Be willing to hold space for all of your emotions, whatever they happen to be in the moment. Keep in mind that this isn’t the same as acting upon them. It is simply acknowledging them and allowing them to exist for what they are. If emotional first aid is necessary, then give yourself that.
The greatest emotional need every person has is intimacy, including you.
The greatest emotional need every person has is intimacy, including you. However, this requires a degree of vulnerability because this means being truly authentic with someone else in order to connect. That takes courage. This applies even with connecting to yourself.
When you start holding space for all emotions, your life transforms.
When you start holding space for all emotions, your life transforms. No emotion is bad or good. They just are. View them as messages within the body trying to tell you something.
No one is a bad person for feeling any kind of way. What truly matters is what you do in response to your emotions. There are healthy and unhealthy responses to everything. Focus on what’s healthy.
Be willing to explore and balance both logic and emotion in order to experience a well-rounded and healthy life.
As I said earlier, emotions are merely messages with the body. They need to be paired with logic, not excluded. Neither should be the sole driving force in your life. Be willing to explore and balance both in order to experience a well-rounded and healthy life.
Conclusion
Don’t let yourself or anyone else for shaming or dismissing this basic and primal need.
It’s not wrong to have emotional needs. In fact, it’s a fundamental part of being human. It’s what brings us together as a species to connect. Our need to belong is a major part of why we have worked together for as long as we have for our collective survival. It’s for this very reason that we have evolved the way we have over the many generations. Don’t let yourself or anyone else for shaming or dismissing this basic and primal need. It’s coded into our genes. So go ahead and reach out to support and be supported.
