2020 Chaos Rally #48

In this coming week’s wellness tarot challenge, we assess the authenticity of our lives. Read on for details!

This Coming Week’s Reading

The purpose of this Chaos Rally tarot reading is to take a look at the coming week and see in what way we can challenge ourselves to do better in regards to our overall wellness. I ask you to approach this as a fun brainstorming session of possibilities rather than me prescribing a course of action to you.

And again, in terms of wellness I want to point out that this applies to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the self. All four of these comprise the total sense of being and need to be taken care of in order to be well. As always, and I cannot stress this enough, be sure to speak to the appropriate professional before making changes to your care plan. This is especially true if my reading for some reason inspires a change in diet, exercise, supplements, or medications, or even raises a concern regarding to your health.

I’m not a specialist in any of these fields. My goal is to look at how to manage wellness in the presence and with the cooperation of your professional care team. Please keep this in mind when going over this reading.

Here is the image of this coming week’s reading.

The Challenge: Seven of Swords

Assess the honesty in your behavior.

Monday Button’s position represents the challenge you need to be working on at this time. Thus, what you need to be working on right now is found within the Seven of Swords.

The challenge of this coming week is to assess the honesty in your behavior. Do you speak and act with integrity? Are you fair in your dealings with others?

We all want to say that we’re good people, but do we really “walk the walk” rather than just talk about it. It’s important to be the kind of person you say you are. And the easiest way to do that is simply to be authentic.

The Lesson: King of Cups

Control of one’s emotions does not mean stuffing them down and ignoring them.

Grim Lee’s position represents what you need to be learning while working on your challenge. Therefore, your lesson at this time is found within the King of Cups.

The lesson for this coming week is understanding that control of one’s emotions does not mean stuffing them down and ignoring them, but actually means holding space for them and calmly choosing the appropriate action for them. Since emotion is energy in motion, they need to either go somewhere or be used for something. Otherwise, our emotions remain in the body to burn.

It’s not possible to be authentic while ignoring your emotions.

When we ignore our emotions, we become dishonest with ourselves. This in turn prevents us from being honest with others. What this means is, the moment we start ignoring our emotions is the moment that all of our interactions become dishonest on an base, inherent level. It’s not possible to be authentic while ignoring your emotions.

The Inner Lie: Page of Wands

What is it that you’re working towards that justifies what you’re going through?

Murphy Law’s position represents the false belief you need to overcome while working on your challenge. The inner lie at this time is revealed within the Page of Wands.

Because the wands speak of passion and passion is about suffering or sacrificing for what you love or believe in, think about what it is you’re willing to do here. The pages are about exploring and learning.

So what does it really mean to you when you hear the words suffer and sacrifice? Because it’s one thing to give up on a night out on the town in order to meet your fitness goals or your writing goals for example. But is it really okay to remain in a toxic situation with little to no benefit?

What is it that you’re working towards that justifies what you’re going through?

Honestly evaluate your motivations behind sacrificing your authentic self for whatever perceived risk or gain there may be.

So let’s apply that question here. Is there someone in your life that requires or makes you feel like you have to sacrifice who you are in order to be with them? What do you get out of it? How does this serve you? Does this honestly benefit you in any way? Why are you doing this? What are the risks involved? Does this align with what you truly believe in?

Honestly evaluate your motivations behind sacrificing your authentic self for whatever perceived risk or gain there may be.

Acknowledge how you feel about what you’re doing.

Acknowledge how you feel about what you’re doing. Even if it’s only to yourself. Ask yourself if this feels good, solid, expansive, and right to you. If not, then it is not for you. This isn’t about fear mind you. You can feel fear or anxious while still feeling like it’s the right thing to do. If it feels exciting, and right, and a little scary then it’s still a green light.

It’s when something gives you a dark, unpleasant, heavy, or compressed feeling that you need to watch out for. Especially when you still give it a try and nothing about it goes well. Things like this are not for you. You don’t need to put yourself through hell and turn it into a toxic mess for something that isn’t in alignment with you. This kind of suffering will wreck you instead of grow you.

When you’re following your true passions you then only sacrifice the things that don’t really help you grow as an individual, even if you might enjoy those things.

Being the real you involves knowing the real you. This means owning and holding space for your emotions, which opens the pathway to pursue your true passions.

When you’re following your true passions you then only sacrifice the things that don’t really help you grow as an individual, even if you might enjoy those things. But that doesn’t happen if you’re not being your authentic self.

The Wisdom: The Emperor

You have control over the direction your life takes.

Wise Toad’s position represents the wisdom to keep in mind as you work on your challenge. The wisdom you need at this time is found within the Emperor.

The wisdom for this coming week is that you have control over the direction your life takes. That power is yours alone. If someone makes a decision for you it is because you chose to give them that power. If someone dictates to you which direction to go and you obey, it’s because you chose to do it.

This is the nature of power exchange. It’s yours to give or keep, but it will never change the fact that you were born with autonomy. This is how free agency works.

And it really sucks when abusive people convince you otherwise. Don’t let them do that to you. I know it’s hard to believe sometimes. But it’s always yours. Forever. I promise. So take that power back.

The best way to take your power back is to be authentic.

The best way to take your power back is to be authentic. Say how to really feel. Say what you really mean. Do what you really need and want.

But the moment you hide who you really are, especially in order to people-please, is the moment you give your power away. Even when you’re getting what you want by doing that you still give your power away, because what happens when they find out you weren’t really being honest in order to get it? Who really has the power in that exchange?

By understanding your emotions and what you need through them, you have a better idea of which direction your life needs to go in.

By understanding your emotions and what you need through them, you have a better idea of which direction your life needs to go in. You are less likely to take a path that is dictated by someone else. The reason for this is you’re not being blindly driven by emotion. Instead, you’re curating your life to your preferences.

You need to make sure that you are prioritizing the right things and aren’t sacrificing the wrong things.

Blind passion creates unnecessary suffering. Know exactly what it is you believe in, which hills you’re willing to die on on, and walk away from the rest. Anything else that doesn’t fall into the category of your passion is just a distraction.

Life is limited. We don’t have the time for the things we don’t want to do, but we also don’t have time for all the things we do want to do. So you need to make sure that you are prioritizing the right things and aren’t sacrificing the wrong things.

Conclusion

In order to live your best life, you need to be authentic and move in the direction that feels good and right to you in such a way the supports what you truly believe in.

In order to live your best life, you need to be authentic and move in the direction that feels good and right to you in such a way the supports what you truly believe in. Cultivate a lifestyle that nurtures your well-being to ensure that you’re not sacrificing the wrong things.
