When was the last time you felt dread? What were the circumstances involved? Were you alone or was anyone else with you? How did you manage the situation? Now that you’re reflecting upon it, how do you feel about it? Describe all of this in your journal, along with the aspects of this experience you are grateful for.

If you can only think of one thing you’re grateful for to write about in your journal, that’s okay. One thing is better than nothing, right? And if for some reason this prompt is leaving you stumped, you can always write about something else you’re grateful for instead. The entire point of this is to get you started, not to confine you in any way. Happy writing!
