Self-Care with The Devil

Welcome to Self-Care with tarot! Each week we will go over one tarot card and explore how it can be used to inspire a self-care activity for the week. This week is the Devil.

Introduction and Meaning of the Card

If you haven’t already, you can explore the basic meaning of this card here, from my Exploring Tarot series, and you can explore the emotional meaning here, from my Emotional Tarot series.

With that said, in the context of self-care, I take this card to mean to be mindful of what you are giving your power to.

My Suggested Self-Care Activity for the Week

Based on the meaning of this card, the activity I would suggest to try doing each day until next Wednesday is track in your journal what you are giving your power to and ask yourself if it aligns with what you truly desire.

Your energy goes where your attention is. The more attention you give something, the greater significance you assign to it. The more significance it has, the more power it has and the more power it has, the more it dominates your life.

If what you desire is not the same as what’s dominating your life, understand how the balance between intention and attention operates. Start practicing this balance by focusing your attention on the things you desire instead of the things you don’t want.

Do You have any Self-Care Activity Ideas to Suggest?
